MARTIN GmbH has expanded its flue-gas treatment capabilities through the acquisition of LUEHR FILTER GmbH, completed in November 2025. The transaction follows MARTIN’s integration of LAB SAS in 2022 and strengthens the group’s ability to supply a larger share of the process chain for waste-to-energy plants.
LUEHR FILTER and LAB bring complementary technologies. LUEHR has established expertise in dry and semi-dry flue-gas cleaning across waste-to-energy and other industries, while LAB is stronger in wet treatment and has developed carbon-capture systems. Combining the portfolios gives customers access to a broader set of emissions-control options without requiring each company to abandon its specialised market position.

The acquisition supports MARTIN’s “chute to stack” strategy: providing the principal combustion and gas-cleaning technologies within one group. LUEHR also brings experience from industrial applications outside waste treatment, which may broaden the engineering knowledge available for future projects. Existing customers will still be able to purchase individual systems rather than complete integrated packages.
MARTIN intends to retain the acquired companies’ brands and operational independence while pooling selected functions such as purchasing. That approach aims to preserve technical teams and established customer relationships while creating engineering and commercial synergies. For plant owners, the practical test will be whether the enlarged group can integrate emissions control, carbon capture and combustion systems with clearer performance responsibility.
