Rothers Group’s commitment to sustainable development is now fortified and placed within the scope of a programme called “Corporate Conscience” (CC). The CC Action Plans cover areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being and health and safety.
Rothers Group is continuously improving actions and integrating environmental sustainability into daily operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Community Involvement
Corporate Conscience is not just about the environment. Rothers Group works diligently on social and economic issues that affect the local community, including charitable donations of time (volunteer work) and money both locally and internationally.
Waste Generation Control
The Rothers Group follows the “Reduce-Reuse-Recycle” principle. Reduce the amount of packaging and materials utilized day-to-day. Reuse materials when possible. Recycle always (paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, metal cans, oil, printer cartridges, fluorescent bulbs, CD ROMs, magnetic cards, batteries and metal hangers).
Energy Efficiency
The Rothers Group has implemented a variety of energy efficiency initiatives from strategic focuses on the issue to simple actions including using energy-efficient light bulbs and establishing general switch on/off switch in rooms.
Why Responsible Business is important
Preserving the environment has become more important as more species of plants and animals become endangered or extinct. Half of the world’s population lives on less than 2 USD per day, and by 2025, it is expected that food production will have to double to be able to feed the growing population. Companies like Rothers have the resources to make a change.
