Waste to Energy International focuses on the development of alternative energy projects.

In our work, we primarily seek solutions that can stop global climate change by advancing energy recovery technology. Our main expertise lies in the waste-to-energy field, where we have analyzed, developed, and consulted for more than a hundred projects. In particular, this involved developing incineration and pyrolysis plants along with providing consulting services in conventional and plasma gasification, sorting, and landfilling.

We do not stop on waste-to-energy projects and go the extra mile by putting our effort and knowledge into other areas of alternative energy. Waste to Energy International has a solid track of successful records in creating hydropower, wind power, and solar power systems across the world.

Our company values the transparent relationship with local developers and describes the subtleties of our meticulously planned project work. The development sequence of any alternative energy project follows the same process. It starts with the initial project identification and the outline of the commercial structure, then proceeds with the feasibility study and fundraising. Finally, it arrives at construction and commissioning. You can find more information about our process of project development in the next section.

Unlike many other development companies on the market, we have extensive on-the-ground experience in constructing alternative energy plants. Not only makes our project contribution unique but also enables us to create and maintain sustainable alternative energy systems.

Alternative Energy Project Development Process

We are devoted to excellence in our analysis and carefully select the best project opportunities available to us. Our team inspects a comprehensive set of aspects specific to each project and contrives a multistage development plan.

The approach to the project development that we take offers reliable cooperation and effective risk mitigation to the investors. The highest quality of our alternative energy projects comes from the way we integrate modern technologies with decades of expertise. We are building the foundation for an environmentally sustainable future and are eager to shape the world together with our partners.

Development of alternative energy projects

Initial identification stage

At the initial identification stage of the development of alternative energy projects, we estimate the economic efficiency and commercial content of the project. With these considerations, we develop a preliminary financial model based on a tariff, waste energy content, insolation level, wind data, and, if applicable, a tipping fee.

Moreover, this stage entails evaluating the endorsing ability of the project initiator, who must be able to sign the Power Purchase Agreement and the approvals required by the country of the project.

Development of alternative energy projects - commercial model

Commercial model

Following the first stage, we start to draft the commercial model to identify potential stakeholders, including a local developer in the country of the project. At Waste to Energy International, we are proud of the long-standing relationships with our investment partners.

As a result, we propose local developers sign the Memorandum of Understanding which binds our partnership and guarantees to commence funding upon completion of the feasibility study. Inherently, the contract specifies the roles and responsibilities of the parties, and we take charge of the technology development.

Development of alternative energy projects - feasibility study

Feasibility study

Our company plays an integral role in the feasibility study, which usually takes three months. At this stage, we carry out writing a market review, justifying the technology selection, and deciding upon a proper technology provider. Together with the local developer, our team collects the country-specific data essential for our analysis.

Then, we direct a request for a proposal to the equipment producer to receive CAPEX and OPEX of the plant under development. With these expenditure values, we build a baseline financial model.

Development of alternative energy projects - project funding

Project funding

When the feasibility study is completed, our investment partner takes several weeks to secure the debt and the equity. This phase ensures the commencement of the project funding, and the drawdown fund structure reflects the investment curve during the construction period.

Development of alternative energy projects - construction

Project Construction

The construction timeline depends on the size of the plant: it can take from half a year to several years, including the project design stage.

During this period, Waste to Energy International holds a crucial managing position as a project supervisor. We establish a technical interface office (TIO) in the project country and control the process on each stage: FEED (front-end engineering design), procurement, and construction. Our engineers carefully monitor the interests of shareholders to make certain that the project does not run out of budget.

Development of alternative energy projects - Commissioning

Plant Commissioning

As a final step in the project realization, Waste to Energy International participates in the plant commissioning. We ensure that the constructed facility meets the declaration and the goals of the project.

Concurrently, we conduct an operations and maintenance tender (O&M) intending to select a specialist company experienced in the operation of similar facilities.
