China Everbright International has secured two waste to energy projects and one environmental sanitation integration project in Hubei Province, China.

China Everbright International (HKSE: 257), a Hong Kong-based waste to energy and environmental services company, has secured two waste to energy projects and one environmental sanitation integration project in Hubei Province, China.

The company explained that the deal includes the Xiushui waste to energy project in Jiangxi Province, the Lianyungang Donghai waste to energy project in Jiangsu Province, and the Zhongxiang Environmental Sanitation Integration Project. The projects represent a total investment of approximately RMB875 million $127 million.

The Xiushui Project will be invested in and constructed on a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model for a concession period of 30 years (construction period inclusive). The project is designed to have a daily household waste processing capacity of 1000 tonnes and will be constructed in two phases.

Phase I of the project has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 600 tonnes and commands an investment of approximately RMB427 million. It is expected to generate on-grid electricity of approximately 89,000 MWh annually.

The company said that the gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 standard. 

The Donghai Project will be invested in and constructed on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model for a concession period of 30 years (construction period inclusive). With a total designed daily household waste processing capacity of 1200 tonnes, the project will also be constructed in two phases.

Phase I of this project has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 600 tonnes, with an investment of approximately RMB418 million. It is expected to generate on-grid electricity of approximately 100,000 MWh annually and also comply with the Euro 2010 standard. 

The Zhongxiang Project represents an investment of approximately RMB30 million as a pilot project for the marketisation of a full-chain and whole-process household waste collection and transportation system in the city.

The project will serve a population of approximately 270,000, and clear and transport approximately 200 tonnes of household waste daily. With a concession period of 15 years, the project includes the establishment of a waste collection and transportation system, in addition to an intelligent sanitation management system.
