Rajendra Pachauri visited a delegation of Veolia leaders to discuss solutions for addressing the climate emergency. Pachauri was in Paris to present French authorities with the latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which he chairs.
In its report, the IPCC reiterated the need for urgent and large-scale action around climate change. Veolia considers this challenge an opportunity to invent a more efficient and environmentally-friendly type of development.
Veolia is strongly committed to solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adaption to climate change, a position reiterated by Veolia CEO Antoine Frérot at the Climate Summit in New York on September 23.
Frérot noted that Veolia’s commitment will continue and Veolia will be active at the COP20 in Lima in December, which is considered a major step toward the COP21 a year later in Paris.
