New York, NY (PRWEB) November 16, 2011

suzysaid_darien-news-junkluggersThe Environment Action Association and the Junkluggers hosted a recycling event, joining thousands of local organizers holding recycling events across the country to celebrate America Recycles Day, the only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States.

The event named “Save the Earth One Toss at a Time” provided the public an opportunity to learn more about recycling that is fun thing to do, and promote awareness on America Recycles Day.

The tri-state area’s eco-friendly junk removal company The Junkluggers, will kick off the event with a truck parade, starting at approximately 7 am in Paramus, NJ. Fourteen vehicles traveled over GWB, into Long Island and then come back via the Long Island Expressway. They will then all go through midtown tunnel to Broadway and then travel down to the Washington Square Park at 11am. And at the park, a series of exciting recycling games such as “Wheels of Recycling/Trash,” “Which is which?” Free gifts will be given to participants. The event will run from 11am-3pm.

“We are very excited to promote America Recycles Day by hosting this event together with the Junkluggers. We raised better awareness on recycling, as well as, encouraging New Yorkers to change their behaviors toward non-wasteful habits” said Soo Greenstein, Manager of Environment Action Association.

“We are very proud supporters of the Environment Action Association and the Junkluggers’ America Recycles Day event and commend their efforts to promote recycling in New York City. Recycling is the easiest thing we can all do to save energy, conserve natural resources and create green jobs. Collectively, through events like these, we aim to make recycling bigger and better 365 days a year,” said Brenda Pulley, Vice President of Recycling Programs at Keep America Beautiful and national program manager for America Recycles Day.
