WTEI and LNW Strengthen Long-Standing Cooperation in Southern Africa
Waste to Energy International (WTEI) and LNW Consulting Engineers & Project Managers (LNW) have signed a framework Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The document aims to expand their cooperation on waste-to-energy and infrastructure projects in Southern Africa. The agreement provides a basis for the companies to identify suitable opportunities and develop project-specific arrangements as individual initiatives progress.

About LNW
LNW is a South African consulting engineering and project management company with experience in the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects. Its regional presence and understanding of local technical, commercial, and regulatory environments complement WTEI’s international experience in developing waste-to-energy projects.
A Partnership Built Over Nearly a Decade
The new framework builds on nearly ten years of cooperation between WTEI and LNW. During this period, the teams have maintained a professional relationship and exchanged expertise on infrastructure and energy-from-waste opportunities. The MoU formalizes a relationship developed over many years and establishes a practical structure for the next stage of collaboration.
Combining International and Regional Capabilities
WTEI brings international project development and waste-to-energy expertise, including concept development, technology selection, feasibility assessment, and coordination of technical and commercial workstreams. LNW contributes regional engineering capability, project management expertise, and knowledge of Southern African project conditions. This combination is intended to support careful project evaluation and the preparation of effective implementation strategies.
Regional Focus
Initial cooperation will focus on opportunities in South Africa and Namibia, where municipalities and project owners seek infrastructure solutions that improve waste management, recover value from resources, and support reliable energy systems. Each opportunity will be evaluated on its own technical, environmental, and commercial merits. WTEI and LNW will define detailed responsibilities in separate project-specific agreements, when appropriate.
Moving Forward Together
By strengthening a trusted, long-standing partnership, WTEI and LNW are creating a stronger platform for the responsible development of waste-to-energy and related infrastructure projects across Southern Africa.
